STORE & BREEDING SHEEP REPORT


Sale ringThe Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart PLC had forward 411 Breeding Sheep and 2,878 Store Lambs at their Sale at Longtown on Tuesday 7th August, 2012.

Another excellent entry, more buyers present and trade sharper for Continentals and Suffolks with Mules easier on the week.

Top was £72 for Suffolk ewe lambs from Satchells who sold other Suffolks at £71.

Texels £68 Chapel House, £65 Fairgirth, £64.50 Rinnion Hills; Greyfaces £62.50 Saunders Close, £60 High Parkfoot, £59 Whiteside. Cheviot Mules £63.20 Satchells;Charollais £58 Haswellsykes. Beltex £60.50 Mossband House; Blackfaces £47.50 Satchells.

Breeding ewes were again in demand. Top was £118 for Suffolk x Shearlings from Hullerbank. Texel ewes to £90 South Mains who also sold Greyfaces at £88.
