RELAXATION OF BLUE TONGUE REGULATIONS
From 21st September, Scottish Border blue tongue restrictions will be substantially reduced. From 21st September there will be no cross border movement restrictions in respect of store, prime and non-pregnant breeding sheep and cattle, and they can be moved freely between England & Scotland. Pregnant animals, bulls & rams may be moved but subject to vaccination/testing regulations. Animals going into Wales from England need to be vaccinated in accordance with Welsh Government requirements.

We have been reminded by DEFRA and Trading Standards that any animals showing signs of ill health (eg. emaciation, lameness, lice, scab, etc.) and likely to be unfit for onward travel should not be accepted onto mart premises and will be returned home. Costs which may arise from attempts to send such animals will be passed back to the consignor. Thank you for your co-operation in this matter. Animal welfare is our priority.
