The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart P.L.C. held their fortnightly
sale of store & breeding cattle at Longtown on Tuesday
22nd June, 2010.
A smaller show of store cattle sold to a rather better trade
on the fortnight. A lot of smaller grazing cattle were on offer and
sold to a top of £790 for a Limousin bullock from D. Woodhouse,
Gibstown, with Limousin heifers from the same home to £715.
Breeding
cattle followed the national trend, being a little less money but
still remained a firm trade. Top price of £1,450 for a Limousin
second calver with Charolais heifer calf from Mr J. Watret, Burnside.
