Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers’ Mart P.L.C. had
forward 3,401 store lambs and 1,630 breeding sheep at their sale
at Longtown on Tuesday 19th August, 2008.
A larger show of 3,401
store lambs again sold well with Mule lambs selling at a premium.

At the Annual August Fair of 1,630 breeding ewes, a mixed show
saw quality types selling at a premium with prices up £10
on the year. Top of £70 for two shear Greyfaces from Englishtown
who sold others at £69 and £68, three shear to £58
Nunscleugh, four shear to £51 High House. Correct Texel
cross ewes to £66 Maxton who also sold Suffolk crosses
at £60; Charollais £52 Stackbraes; Swaledale £20
Cooks House. Texel rams to £105 Fergus Hill.
