The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart had forward 554
lots of Christmas turkeys, ducks, geese & chickens at their sale
on Friday 21st December.
A fine quality show of birds were forward.
Oven ready birds were easily sold, with rough plucked birds hard
to sell towards the end of the sale.
The highlight of the sale was
a fine oven ready turkey weighing 44 lbs which was shown by Messrs
Hoodless, Redhouse, who then sold it on behalf of Eden Valley Hospice
realising £100 and purchased by Graham Arms Hotel, Longtown.
