The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers’ Mart P.L.C. had
forward 705 suckled calves at their October show and sale on Saturday
1st October, 2005.
The judge was Mr. B. Duffton, Huntly
who awarded the championship to a lightweight heifer from W H & D
A Gass, Nunscleugh, Bewcastle which later sold at £1,250. Reserve
champion sold to £700
also from Nunscleugh.
Best Charolais was awarded to a heifer from
A B & H Murray,
Sarkside Farm, selling to £605.
All classes of cattle
sold well past vendors expectations to a full ringside of buyers
from Norwich to Huntley.
