The Cumberland and Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart P.L.C. had a catalogue
entry of 325 at their first sale of Zwartbles rams and females at Longtown on
Tuesday 30th August 2005.
A packed ringside witnessed an exciting trade for all classes,
with vendors highly satisfied.
Top price of the day was £480 for a shearling ram from H.
McCornick, Stewarton. Ram lambs to £450 from M. Shadwick,
Raughton. Females to £380 for a two shear ewe from
C. Scott, East Middles who also sold top price ewe lambs at £250.
