Show & Sale of Texel prime lambs

Show & Sale of Texel prime lambs 26th August 2004

Included in the sale on Thursday 26th August, 2004 was a show of Texel prime lambs on behalf of the Solway & Tyne Texel Breeders.

Mr Andrew Dawson of Kirkby Lonsdale was judge for the day and made the following awards:

1st prize & champion pen – A.R. Bell, Kirkton, Hawick(sold for £60 to Mr Wyn Ellis of Welsh Country Foods, Anglesey – the lambs are destined for the shelves of the ASDA Supermarket Network).

2nd prize & reserve champion – Messrs Nixon, Oakwood, Selkirk (£54 to Woodhead Bros).

3rd prize – Messrs White, Howden, Selkirk (£51.50 to West Scottish Lamb, Carlisle).
