The Cumberland and Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart P.L.C. had forward 140 Texel, Suffolk
and Hill Bred rams at their inaugural late season ram fair on Tuesday
28th October 2003.
A busy ringside saw plenty of keen bidding with many prices above
sellers expectations. The sale was topped at £400 for a Bluefaced
Leicester ram lamb from Mrs C. MacGillivray, Troutbeck Cottage
and closely followed at £380 twice for a Texel shearling
from Mr K. Jamieson, Woodhead, Annan and for a Suffolk shearling
from Messrs Fleming, Hillhead, Kirkpatrick Fleming.
