The Cumberland and Dumfriesshire
Farmers’ Mart P.L.C. had forward 468 store cattle at their
Special Kirkcambeck Spring sale on Tuesday 9th April 2002.
With a large attendance of
local and distant buyers present, all classes met the dearest trade
of the season with many going home short of requirements.
A smaller show of 29 cows and
heifers with calves and in calf met a sharp selling trade showing
an increase in rates to a top of £600 for a Blonde d’Aquitaine
cow with bull calf, followed at £590 for a Limousin x heifer
with bull calf both from Churchstyle
