The Cumberland and Dumfriesshire Farmers’ Mart P.L.C. had
forward a catalogue entry of 798 Hillbred Suckler Calves at their
Annual Sale on Saturday 23rd October 2004.
Trade for all classes
was well in excess of expectations with many buyers leaving short
of numbers.
The annual show was held prior to the sale and kindly
sponsored by Barclays Bank PLC and judged by Mr Tom Neill, Upper
Tinwald whose awards were as follows:-
Limousin cross bullock – 1st prize to A. Carruthers & Son,

A feature of the sale was the annual consignment of 123 spring
born calves from

averaging £325.62
