Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart PLC held a sale of horses and ponies and 350 lots of tack in Dumfries on Saturday 12th August 2006.

Being the first horse sale held in Dumfries for a great number of years it attracted a huge crowd of buyers from all over Britain.

71 horse and ponies forward sold to 3500gns for an Irish Red and White 4y.o. Gelding, 1450 gns. for a 11y.o. Bay Mare 1200 gns for a 9y.o. Bay Mare, 1120gns for a Bay Gelding.
