The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart held their annual Christmas show and sale of 75 prime cattle in Dumfries on Wednesday 6th December 2006, which was kindly sponsored by Farmers Guardian.

Champion

An excellent show of quality cattle from the South West region which was a credit to the local showmen, was presented to the judge Mr. M. Hall, Frasers Butchers, Stranraer.

Champion being sold

After careful deliberation the championship rose bowl was awarded to joint owner A J Forsyth & Co, Mid Bishopton and J Thomson & Son, Ewanston with a 14 month Charolais x bullock (540kg) selling at 250p/kg to Frasers Butchers.

Reserve Champion being sold

Reserve champion was awarded to A & E Vance, Bridgehouse with a 10 month Limousin x bullock (540kg) 230p/kg to Frasers Butchers.
