Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart were kindly favoured with the Displenishing sale at Whiteyard, Lochfoot, Dumfries on behalf of H & E Hulland.

A large turnout of both friends and customers from as far afield as Hereford to Forfar were in attendance. All stock was shown in good bloom and a most satisfactory trade prevailed.

Limousin cows with bull calves to £1350, £1280 and £1240, Limousin heifers in calf to £860 and £800, Pre. 1996 cows with calves £750 and £700

Store cattle yearling bullocks to £575, Heifers to £500.

Breeding sheep – Texel ewes (1/2 crop) to £85 and £81, (3 crop) to £63, (4 crop) to £49

Rams to £220

Store lambs Texel to £42.

90 stock cows (mainly Limousin X & Belg Blue X) with spring born calves
comprising – 20 ran with Belg Blue bull since end of June. 27 ran with Lim bull since end of June, 32 ran with Blonde bull since end of June, 4 Lim heifers ran with Blonde Bull since end of June, 7 Cows free of bull, 1 Limousin Bull 4y.o., 1 Blonde Bull 3y.o., 1 Belgian Blue Bull, 25 store cattle 18m.o.

595 sheep
comprising - 20 Texel X gimmers , 150 Texel X ewes (2 crop), 120 Texel X ewes (3/4 crop), 5 Texel rams, 300 Texel X store lambs, 50 North of England Mule Gimmers.
