Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers had forward a catalogue entry
of 4,520 Scotch Mule Ewe Lambs at their Nithsdale Show and Sale at Dumfries
on Friday 26th August 2005 sponsored by Bank of Scotland.
The
judge Mr. P. Lane, Raeburnhead, Kirkpatrick Fleming, Lockerbie had a
top quality selection to pick from and awarded the championship to Mr.
M Forster, Newbridge, Dumfries. The champion pen sold for £84
and were split between J Peden, Tara, Dumfries and Messrs C & K Harvey,
Nethertown, Dunscore, Dumfries.
A rather mixed trade prevailed
with the top lots easily sold yet other lots looking worth the money. The
reserve champion pen from Kirkton of Crawford made £81.
The overall averaged was £58.74, a rise of £1.65 on the
year.
