Dairy Cattle Dispersal at Dumfries

DUMFRIES DISPERSAL SALE & STORE SHEEP

Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart PLC conducted the Dispersal sale of 150 dairy cattle belonging to the Firm of A Lammie, Castlemains, Lochmaben at Dumfries Mart on Friday 22nd October 2004.

A large ringside of buyers were present and fresh calved cows and heifers met a sound trade.

Principal prices –
Cows in milk - £760, £730, £700, £640, £620.
Heifers in milk - £660, £600, £560, £550
In calf cows - £640, £630, £600.
In calf heifers - £500, £490.
Bulling heifers - £400, £350, £330.

The firm also held their weekly sale of breeding and feeding sheep when 1465 were sold. Breeding sheep were slightly easier on the week, whilst store lambs sold at similar rates.
