Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart PLC held their second sale
of Scotch Mule Ewe Lambs in Dumfries on Saturday 11th September
2004 when 3,864 were forward.
A large ringside of buyers present and all types of lambs were in demand.
The top price of £71 was paid for a quality lot from Messrs J Stewart,
Crookboat, Sandilands, by Lanark.
The overall average was £52.69 a fall of £2.50 on the year.
Mule ewe lambs - £71 Crookboat, £66 Abune the Brae, Lagganpark
and Dalpeddar, £65 Breconside, £64 Spango, £63 Lagganpark, £62
Spango, £60 Auchenbainzie, Barr and Barvennan.
Half-bred ewe lambs - £58 Townfoot, £54 Marwhirn.
Texel ewe lambs - £49 Marwhirn.
1233 store lambs: again met an animated demand.
