CORONAVIRUS

Issued 16th March 2020

Naturally we are taking every possible precaution to ensure the safety of our customers and staff and offer the following guidance:-

see IAAS COVID-19 Action Plan

SALES (excluding Poultry)
All sales of stock will carry on as scheduled until further notice.

POULTRY
The Poultry sale at Longtown on Saturday 28th March is cancelled.  The next sale is scheduled for 27th June.

MART ATTENDANCE
We would prefer, as far as possible, if only Vendors, Purchasers and Hauliers carrying out business enter the mart premises and therefore, please, NO Visitors or Children.

We would also request that all persons attending sales, regularly use the hand washing and hand sanitising facilities provided. In particular everyone should wash or sanitise their hands before entering the canteen or office.

We have followed and adhered to all Government and Medical Advice and under those guidelines there is no reason for us to cancel or postpone sales at this time but please be aware that arrangements may change at short notice.

PREVENTION

If you wish to sell stock but not attend the sale in person :-

  • Phone or contact our auctioneers to discuss the sale and any reserve prices etc.

  • Deliver your stock to the mart and we will look after it.

  • If you are considered to be in the ‘at risk’ category and do not wish to get out of your vehicle, phone the office or Willie Hood on arrival and our staff will unload your vehicle. You must, of course, bring your completed movement licence etc. if required with you.

IF YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS

We would ask people, who have experienced any symptoms such as fever, shortness of breath, or a dry cough not to attend any sales.  This also applies to anyone who has visited a high risk area abroad in the past 14 days or has come into contact with a positive Coronavirus (Covid-19) case.

We advise anyone who is considered to be in the ‘at risk’ category, i.e. the elderly, and anyone with pre-existing or underlying health conditions not to attend sales.

If you can answer yes to any of the 3 questions below, please DO NOT attend sales.

HAVE YOU

  • EXPERIENCED ANY SYMPTOMS OF CORONAVIRUS?
  • COME INTO CONTACT WITH A POSITIVE CORONAVIRUS (COVID -19) CASE?
  • VISITED A HIGH-RISK AREA ABROAD DURING THE PREVIOUS 14 DAYS?

If you are attending sales, you do so at your own risk, and we would expect strict adherence to the hand washing and sanitising guidelines.
